Get Organized: Where My Shoes At?
Let’s get one thing straight, as much as I want to pretend that I’m going to have one of those closets above, it’s not happening any time soon. So in the mean while I need to do something to get rid of the mess I’ve created all over my house with my shoes. I find my shoes in every random corner of my house- they’re in the closet, in the bathroom, in my bedroom, under my bed, in the pantry, etc etc. OK I’m exaggerating a bit but you get the point. So it’s time for a shoe-vention. No, not the kind where you have to stop buying shoes because you already have enough, psshh yeah right! I’m talking about the other kind of shoe-vention. You know, the one where you learn how to keep your shoes organized. Get ready to be shoe-ducated:
Hang your boots
You can purchase boot hangers from places like the container store for $4.99 (left) or $9.99 (right)
Though that’s a little expensive and will add up pretty fast. I prefer the idea of getting inexpensive pant hangers with sliding clips and using those to hang my boots. You can find packs of these at target that end up costing you $1 per hanger.
Hang your flip-flops
I know it’s still winter, but spring/summer is just around the corner. My flip-flops are dying for a comeback, and nothing will make them happier than to have a better home than the trunk of my car. I found a cheap-easy-to-DIY tutorial on making your own flip-flop hangers. Check it out:
The end result is amazing. You can use it for your flip flops & your ballet flats!
So start cleaning before the new year and get organized! For more conventional ways to organize your shoes check out these links: Shelf storage, Floor storage, and Overdoor storage.
