7 Reasons Why It’s Good To Be Single

With all things “Valentine” looming around and about, it’s no surprise that many a single guy or gal is going to wonder .. “Why don’t I have someone?” or “Man .. it’s time for me to get laid/hitched/texted back”. Maybe you’re right .. but maybe not! See I’m of a different school of thought. I don’t believe that “single” is synonymous with “miserable”, or “single” means “lonely”. There is beauty in single-dom, so long as you’re confident enough to see it.

Here are my top reasons it’s damn good to be single:

• You Never Know When There Is Romance In the Air

There is something downright mysterious and sexy about new romance. What’s more exciting than being the confident diva or divo that you are, and all of a sudden the beginnings of a new crush appear? Cue the beginning of a new courtship: the first touch of your hands, the first kiss in the rain, all the way to wanting to tear off each others clothes in the drop of a second .. that rough, raw, new romance is available to you, single-ites!

• Fish In The Sea? Don’t Mind If I Do!

At the risk of sounding crass .. oh who am I kidding? I’m as crass as a Navy sailor. There are so many people out there in the world. So much good, so much bad, so much clever, so much new .. Single people, you get to enjoy the fish in the sea! You can date around, with no strings and get to know whomever you want! Why? The world is your single folks OYSTA! And you are the pearl, honey! Go check out the fish in the sea .. and check them out well.

• Scary Thought: Being Responsible For Your Own Happiness

Gulp! Sounds scary, doesn’t it? Well, no .. it shouldn’t! So many people I know date someone because their significant other makes them happy, or completes them .. which in theory sounds nice.

You shouldn’t be with someone because they make you happy. You should be happy, and then form a happier union.

Single people, take note. Take your time, and get to know yourself. See what makes YOU happy! Bob, you like cheese and wine? Go check out a cheese and wine festival! Lana, you like to Salsa? Then go join a local salsa class! When you’re single you have less priorities, less commitments, and you’re not responsible for anyone else’s happiness but YOURSELF, so go enjoy it!

• Create Super Solid Relations

• Travel/Work/Live Wherever You Want

You’re single right? You can literally pick up, and go to Bali if you’d like. You’re single right? So then I guess that opportunity in Miami should be doable. This may or may not become a factor for couples when they are in relationships, but it does create some thought about your other half, which a single person doesn’t have to worry about!
