What Was She Wearing: Wide Leg Jeans

Happy Monday!!

This little number I wore to a Sunday brunch. Pancakes were had, mimosas were consumed, all in all it was good times. I knew that day I wanted to wear these wide leg pants I had picked up at the mall and I wanted to break in my Buddy Holly glasses. So the question remains – what was she wearing?

Top: Forever 21 silk button down white shirt (similar from Express)

Pants: Express wide leg jeans (similar from GAP here & from Old Navy here)

Shoes: Wedges from Aldo (similar)

Glasses: Buddy Holly Glasses bringing nerdy back (similar)

Belt: Target (similar)

IMO wide leg pants look best with a tucked in shirt and a belt. Something tucked in or tight instead of a loose top will balance the wideness of the pant and wont make you look frumpy. Put some heels on so the pants don’t drag on the floor. I’d suggest you wear open toe wedges with the wide leg pants. If you absolutely refuse to wear heels, then make sure to get the pants tailored, again, to avoid looking frumpy.

If you do decide to wear thick rim glasses, I’d suggest to leave the big earrings at home. For makeup, I went with thick eyeliner, some blush and red lips! The red lips were perfect with the subdued blue jeans, white top outfit. For more makeup tips for girls who wear/want to wear glasses check out this post from Refiner29.

Pssst…Check out my favorite picture from that day! The sun definitely makes the picture super cool.

I wear vision correction full time with contact lenses, and try to avoid wearing glasses. However, I love how you have helped show how glasses can merely be an accessory : ) Fashionable and functional, I thought that was unheard of!

Really like the glasses and I haven’t worn wide leg pants since my early high school days, but I loved them.
