Word To Yo Mother: The Mothers Day Gift Guide From Us to You

May 12, 2012. This day belongs to the ultimate ladies in our lives, the queen Bee-you-ti-ful ladies who carried us in their tummy for 9 months, dealt with our disgusting diapers, and spoonfed us and infused personalities into our little souls.

YOU GUESSED IT FOLKS – IT’S MOTHERS DAY!!!!!!!

We need music to celebrate! Hit it, Hologram Tupac!

Because we know that mommys deserve to be spoiled, we compiled a little list for all you amazing and mommy-adoring boys and girls! Here are some of our favorite/easy/cute suggestions for Mother’s Day.

  • Spa’s, Massages, and Facials .. Oh My!

Who doesn’t like being pampered? Sometimes we forget how much mother’s need a day or two of sheer old fashion relaxation! This also doesn’t have to cost an arm and a leg. Sure you can go to Burke Williams and ensure your mom has proper access to that wonderful spot and it’s relaxing amenities. Or you can check out Groupon or LivingSocial to see what kinds of awesome spa packages they might have for mom!
  • Keepsakes She’ll Keep Forever
One keepsake idea we personally ADORE, is to gather up childhood photos of you and your mother and creating a mini-book for her. She can reminisce and treasure all the memories associated with those photos! Snapfish.com is my personal favorite for creating photobooks and other cool things like personalized mousepads and calender! So long as your item of choice displays some awesome photos of you and her, there’s no way you can go wrong with a gift like this!
  • Hire Some Help!

If your mom is anything like ours, chances are she’s probably constantly cooking, and if she’s not cooking, she’s cleaning after the cooking. After the cleaning, she has to plan and cook the next meal. And go to work, raise a family, be a good wife, and be superwoman. Wouldn’t it be nice, as a gift to hire a maid (MerryMaids will quote you asap!) to take care of the house for a day/week/month? Change up your regular dinner routine, and hire a personal chef to come over and whip up a meal!

  • Wine & Dine Mom in Style!
Why not organize a limo ride to dinner for mom? You’d be surprised how fun it is to sweep your own mom off of her feet! Weather permitting, you can also take your mom on a boat cruise dinner & dining situation! This may take some advance planning as you want to ensure you have a limo or boat cruise organized a little in advance!
  • Sentimental & Sweet Gifts
Ever though to write your mom a note? A “Thank You” note? Appreciation is the most underrated gift ever. Write your mom an actual “Thank You” not where you not only thank her for picking you up from school, but for hugging you when you were little, to listening to your rants about your terrible girlfriend. She’s a great person, she deserves a huge thank you.
Also, a simple and easy gift, is to go into the family album box and locate the earliest photo you have of her and yourself. Walgreens will help you expand the photo to an 8 x 10, you can then pick up a frame, and you have single-handedly given her the memory of your first moments together, and a chic new piece of artwork. Hi-five.
  • The Usual Suspects
If all else fails, you can always pick her up a new fragrance, some cosmetics, jewelry of her favorite kind, or even a new handbag. Remember this is about appreciating her taste, her wants, and her likes!
  • Top Your Gift Off With Flowers

This my friend, is icing on the cake!

When you are a mother, you are never really alone in your thoughts. A mother always has to think twice – once for herself, and once for her child. – Sophia Loren
